چکیده

Focusing on the steric and electronic properties of the resonance-stabilized amidine framework, a cationic metal-bisamidine complex was designed as a conjugated combined Lewis-Brønsted acid catalyst. The chiral Zn(II)-bisamidine catalyst prepared from the 2,2'-bipyridyl derived bisamidine ligand, ZnCl₂, and AgSbF₆ promoted asymmetric Mukaiyama aldol reaction of α-ketoester and α,α-disubstituted silyl enol ether to afford the α-hydroxyester having sequential quarternary carbons in good yield, albeit with low enantioselectivity. Addition of 1.0 equivalent of the fluoroalcohol having suitable acidity and bulkiness dramatically increased the enantioselectivity (up to 68% ee). DFT calculations suggested that this additive effect would be caused by self-assembly of the fluoroalcohol on the Zn(II)-bisamidine catalyst.

Catalytic asymmetric synthesis of CF3-substituted tertiary propargylic alcohols via direct aldol reaction of α-N3 amide.

Organofluorine compounds are found in several important classes of chemicals, such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and functional materials. Chemists have been immensely interested in the development of methodologies for expeditious access to fluorine containing building blocks. In this study, we report a new method for the catalytic asymmetric synthesis of CF3-substituted tertiary propargyl...

Boric Acid-Functionalized Fe3O4@SiO2 as a Novel Superparamagnetically Recoverable Nano Catalyst for Mukaiyama-Aldol Reaction

We have reported the fabrication of boric acid incorporated into surface of magnetite nanoparticles. The catalyst was characterized using spectroscopic, magnetic and thermal techniques (FT-IR, SEM, XRD, ICP, VSM and TGA). It catalyzed Mukaiyama aldol reaction of a ketene silyl acetal type nucleophile ((1-methoxy-2-methylprop-1-enyloxy) trimethylsilane), and various aldehydes (aromatic, aliphati...

Disulfonimide-catalyzed asymmetric vinylogous and bisvinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reactions.

The term vinylogy, which describes a unique property of p systems where the electron density and reactivity is amplified along conjugated bonds, was proposed 75 years ago by Fuson. The principle becomes particularly relevant in the context of the aldol reaction: While metal dienolates often furnish mixtures of aand g-addition products, the corresponding dienolsilanes react with high selectivity...

Stereoselective Acetate Aldol Reactions

The stereochemical control of aldol reactions from unsubstituted enolor enolatelike species, what are known as acetate aldol reactions, has been a matter of concern for nearly 30 years [1, 2]. Indeed, pioneering studies soon recognized that the asymmetric installation of a single stereocenter in such aldol reactions was much more demanding than the simultaneous construction of two new stereocen...
